Total Miner (Indie game)

Total Miner is a sandbox building game that involves survival tactics with a generic defense system of combat. The main thing to do, survive. But more than anything you will spend your time either deep down underground in the complex cave systems searching for materials and defending off against giant spiders. There are many weapons to create in your adventures including and not limited to swords, bow and arrows, grenade launcher, shields for defense, and many more. You will spend the other portion of your time building. A simple hut or a giant mansion the possibilities of what you can create are limitless, there only limit is what your imagination is capable of. Giant city’s to old western towns its up to what to create. There are over 50 avatars that you can be and choose. This game being a survival is also a constructive game. Building is the main thing to it and that’s where creative mode comes in. You can fly around and use markers for easy building rather than surviving. For creating this, this game deserves a 10 but overall i would give this game a solid 8. It is defiantly a game worth getting, especially if you have a creative mind or an overactive imagination.

Castle Miner z (Indie game)

The sandbox building games of our time are great for building vast worlds with our buddies. Its the same case with Castle Miner z, only with a twist. Not only can you build an enormous world, you can bring that world into survival mode where you must fend off from an endless wave of zombies and dragons. Build your epic fort and construct your weapons in order to survive. The endurance mode is a lot of fun, it allows you and your friends to attempt the feat of traveling mile after mile across dessert, mountains, arctic tundra, even the land of blood stone (hell on earth) and more, the distance you can travel is nearly endless. In dragon survival you will be faced to face with dragon after dragon running, jumping, and dodging fireballs and fire blasts. The graphics are like any other sandbox building game and to be able to use your very own avatar to endure it all just tops off its greatness in the sandbox building genera. It could use a little more variety in weapons and to be honest there aren’t many materials to build with. 1 out of 10 it gets a well deserved 7. For the cheap price of only 240 Microsoft points (3 dollars) its a steal.

MW3 Review (360)

Call Of Duty has been on top of their games, but is their new game all its cracked up to be? MW3 is no different from all its brothers, sure, new maps, new guns but it has the same feeling of repetitive game play. Call Of Duty has always had a great campaign and this shows in MW3. It adds up and follows where the last left off. It flows smoothly and has many cliffhangers making you want to play longer which is a definite plus. Whether your sprinting through the streets of Paris or swimming deep down under the ocean, you will continuously be on your toes around every corner and you will not want to put your controller down even for a moment. The newest thing MW3 has to offer is the long awaited for and anticipated survival mode. A great addition to the game yes, but it gets old extremely fast. We enjoyed leveling up and the epic gunfights but once you hit level 50 the flare dies. It was fun but it doesn’t stand a chance against zombies from Black Ops and World At War. Zombies was an amazing installment to the Call Of Duty franchise and hopefully will return to it in the future. (off topic yes, but i’m sure many would agree) Elite was an interesting idea to say the least. For the die hard fans they can have the option to get all the downloadable content sooner than all the “average” players while saving ten dollars in the process. It doesn’t give them anything to have an edge in live multiplayer which is extremely good. Anything like that would be a great addition to any game. Lastly, the multiplayer is good for the most part, but is the same thing as its always been. They brought back death streaks which was a very bad idea, along with overpowered shotguns that can leave you aggravated and wanting nothing to do with it for some time. There are not many new guns and the perks are all the same regardless of a few. Mods are still a big issue in this. For example the fully automatic MK14 can get seriously annoying and that’s the smallest of them. The maps are pretty good but they still are lacking in diversity. Some maps seem the same as the next. On top of the same old maps is the spawns are absolutely atrocious. They said they would be fixed but i still find myself spawning literally on top of enemy players as well as them spawning directly in front of me causing my single kill to turn into a double or even triple kill. Perks are too easy to upgrade, there’s a lot to get, but you get it all much to easily. The leveling system was a great addition it gives you something to want to continue playing for. It allows you a sense of authority, superiority, and all around pride knowing that the golden gun with dual attachments, extended magazine, and silencer you are wielding around you earned through hours of hard work and loyalty towards that weapon. Our overall rating for MW3 is a 7.5 out of 10. With a great campaign, fun but not lasting impression in survival, and an aggravating yet competitive and fun multiplayer experience it is a great add on to any gamer’s collection.
